Well, that's over now. I got my clearance in NBI Tagaytay, which was really cool (in one way or another), because I got my clearance within the day. You'd usually get yours that fast too, if you don't have anyone else with the same name as yours. Operations usually start at around 7am.
So here are some tips in getting your NBI clearance without getting bored or impatient:
1. Go to the NBI branch, or whatever you call it, satellite, early - and I do mean early. I got there around 6am already, and I was already number 117. They only accommodate 500 people in one day, by the way.
2. Have some snacks ready. Waking up early and having no breakfast at all will make you go all dizzy and hypoglycemic.
3. Bring along a book or anything else to read. I wouldn't recommend bringing your iPod along, 'cause you'll be waiting for your name to be called once the process has been done, you wouldn't want to miss your name, do you?
4. Have your pen ready and at least one valid ID. (And P115 - payment for the NBI clearance with the purpose of local employment)
5. And please, do wear proper attire. No shorts, no slippers. Remove your earrings (for the guys).
Once the application process is done, you'll be able to get your clearance in a matter of an hour or two. They say that there are some who get it in a few minutes. If you're lucky, then you'll be able to get your NBI clearance without going through a lot of hassle.
